Saturday was the day. Momma Say Sisters Say Productions held the official premiere for our newest production, “Love in a Different Key” and it was a moment. I always get a little nervous when it’s time to publicly share my work. Even if people say nothing, my mind is still going, wondering how my work is being received. It’s not that I don’t believe in it-I think it’s just natural. It comes down to having made the choice to be vulnerable and put yourself out there.
“Love in a Different Key” was inspired by my own story as well as glimpses of others that I had seen. To know that people appreciated the moments, which going into this years ago, were intentional, made me feel like my whole reason for writing it was seen.
There were cast, family, friends, co-workers, as well as people whom we had never met in attendance. We ate, drank, listened to a love playlist that consisted of a lot of 90’s and 2000’s love songs, and we got into the film.
I am appreciative of everyone who showed up, purchased merch (which will also be available online soon), and who expressed curiosity in the next steps for this film (next steps tba :). The cast and team got things done and I feel proud about the finished product. I’m grateful for everyone involved.
Here is a quick video captured by Cory Hunter who was also our Camera Operator for “Love in a Different Key.”
