Essence Mason

Essence Mason is a writer from New York City and a CCNY Alum. With a B.A. in Creative Writing, Mason continues to explore the different creative genres in film, on stage, and on the page. In the past, Mason has written for the Everything Girls Love website. She began her filmmaking journey in 2015, with her first short film (“Those Tiny Pieces,” starring Kay Lofton, Shannon Wallace and Fleidy Aponte) becoming an Official Selection of the 2017 Hope Film Awards. In December 2019, Mason produced and presented her very first musical “Love in a Different Key” to two sold-out audiences at the Bernie Wohl Center in New York City. “The feature film adaptation of “Love in a Different Key,” produced by Momma Say Sisters Say Productions is now available on Prime Video AND Fawesome TV.
